MIT is a band from Germany and maybe the most interesting at the moment. I think they should be more popular all over the world, so take a minute and listen to them. "MIT use an upcoming Peaches gig in Cologne as an opportunity to hand their demo over to the singer's manager. The unexpected happens: Said manager plays the demo to Peaches, who is so excited by it that she actually decides to invite MIT to open for her at Gebäude 9 that same evening.
This is where things start to pick up pace: Friend requests from England begin to reach the band's MySpace-site. Only three days after their concert in Cologne with Peaches, MIT spends ten days on the island, giving several concerts.
The band had worked out an aesthetic sound concept beforehand, which everyone stuck with in production: MIT composed eleven songs for “Nano Notes” and eleven songs now comprise the finished album.
So much for the tedious theory that in no way explains the very special magic of this music. More than before, “Nano Notes” bears witness to the way in which MIT is able to conciliate German electronic traditions and a universal understanding of Pop, with somnambulant confidence.
